"Fufu, fighting a Garumon Battle under Goshujin-sama is a first… I'll show you!"

Miria was raring to go.

… Then again, doing a mock battle in the middle of an Attack Op was somewhat reckless. Of course, I was fighting in a way that wouldn't lead to incapacitation.

But Eve, an important fighting asset, could be pulled out without issue — that's how weak the Magical Beasts' attacks were just then.

S-Class 24th Naoto Akai

LV70 Miria Demon General Value 8300

"D-Demon General…!"

"Don't shrink back. They're an opponent we… will have to fight someday. We have to show our strength here!"

"Let's do our best~ ooh!"

Maya the Attacker faint of heart, Sakura the Supporter bold, Helen the Defender easygoing — a fairly unusual trio.

Supporters being bright cheerleader types isn't strange in itself, but Sakura was a debuffer who tripped up the enemy.

You'd think a more "I curse you" personality would suit better…

Well, that mismatch made all three cute.

Now, battle start.

"Phantom Warrior!"

Maya summoned a phantom warrior.

"Ice Doll!"

Helen summoned an ice doll.

5 vs 1. And…

"Wood Curse!"

Sakura extended squirming tree roots, trying to obstruct Miria's action.

"All right, Miria. Flame Form!"

"Yes, Flame Form!"

Boaaa!

Miria's body was enveloped in flames.

Miria's skills are all powerful, but the strongest of all, I think, is actually this Flame Form.

Nullifies damage except from weakness elements…

Fire's weaknesses are Water, Dark, Dragon, and God only. Out of 16 elements, nullifying 3/4 of them is pretty brutal.

… And Helen was Ice, Sakura was Grass, Maya was Spirit — none strong against Fire, as I'd already read.

… Cheating, no? Sorry.

In a normal fight, by Turn 3 we'd probably get taken out…

Tree roots wrapped around her, but burned away before they could bind.

Even debuff skills get nullified if not a weakness element, huh.

"… No way…"

"Maya, don't flinch!"

"G-go! Phantom Warrior! Phantom Brink!"

Phantom Warriors became 2.

Hoho, that kind of skill too…

Turn 2.

"G-go, Phantom Warrior No. 1, Phantom Howl!"

The Phantom Warrior went spirit-form and tried to latch onto Miria. But…

Boaaa!

The blazing flames repelled the latch.

"S-such… Phantom Warrior No. 2, Cavalry Charge!"

… Whiff!

… The flames passed right through them.

"E-eeh…!? E-even Non-element doesn't work…!"

Heh, Non-element didn't work. Always equal-multiplier in exchange for making most elements meaningless — nullifying Non-element is impressive…

A bit too cheat-tier…

"Weakness!"

But the magic debuff did land. While she's not Demon-General Awakened, she can't resist.

Attack-power down, I'd guess. Harder to finish off.

That said…

"Magic Art - Flame Riot!"

DOGOON!

A tremendous burst of flame released.

… Everyone weak to Fire — a fairly extreme composition. With only a slight debuff, could they really endure?

"Doll, Suck-In!"

DOGOON! A direct hit on the ice doll.

… But only 4 dots. Hard!

This really didn't mean Miria had the advantage…

"Miria. Aim a little more at the gaps in their armor. Pull tight, fire strong!"

"! O-okay!"

DOGOON!

Good, up to 6 dots.

"A bit more! Straight, aim for their eyes!"

DOGOON!

8 dots! A critical!

… With 8 consecutive hits, she somehow shaved more than half the ice doll's HP.

"Oh dear?"

Helen was easygoing, but she seemed surprised.

"Hig… s-strong!"

Maya was clearly scared.

"Geez, of course Naoto-sama operating a Demon General is strong, we've gotta brace ourselves and take it on!"

Sakura cheered them up.

"… That said, like this we have no means to deal damage.

… Member change! Leave the rest to us!"

Eve immediately called a member change. Quick judgment. Excellent.

Looking at each other's stats, you'd know fighting was futile, but making that call at this point was hard.

It wouldn't have been odd to spend 2-3 turns seeing how things went, thinking "maybe we can still fight."

Yet that quick a decision. A sign of Eve's excellence, I felt.

And out came Eve and Sanna.

"Starlight Power!"

The two transformed instantly. Both went momentarily fully nude in shining sparkles, then sparkles wove costumes around them…

And into the form of Magical Girls.

The slightly erotic, late-night-anime type rather than Sunday-morning.

Well, given breast sizes, kids' programming would be a stretch.

"Ahaha! Now, come at us! Demon General Awakening! Demon-Blood Release!"

GOOOO!

Both sides' combat strength shot up.

Demon General vs 2 Magical Girls — in morning anime you'd absolutely not be allowed to win.

Little girls nationwide would cry.

But in late-night anime, you'd capture them and do something erotic instead… that's eroge.

In late-night anime it'd be heads chopped off.

This time, obviously, I wasn't doing anything life-threatening…

No, maybe a little erotic stuff is…

Letting impure thoughts into battle was no good.

This was Miria's first match in Garumon Battle. She had to win comfortably and want to become my companion at the end of the Attack Op.

In that sense, this match couldn't be lost.

"Night Illusion!"

Eve and Sanna's numbers suddenly doubled.

"Magical Water!"

"Magical Water!"

"Magical Water!"

"Magical Water!"

Water attacks from Eve and Sanna and their clones. Magical Girls really do have varied means of attack.

Constant 4-action turns? That's strong.

Miria's Flame Form had dissolved with Demon General Awakening. Otherwise it'd have been 4x damage, fairly brutal.

Bashu, bashu!

Water streams poured down on Miria. But damage of about 100 each. Trifling against Miria's 5x HP.

"Then, can you take this? Magic Art - Flame Riot!"

DOGOOOO!

Magic flame bullets released.

8 hits, no less.

"Agu!"

Bashu!

A clone of Eve took one. That alone blew away 2/3 of her HP. But…

Kira kira kira… The clone's HP recovered a bit.

Quite tenacious. But…

Bashu!

The 2nd hit erased the clone.

4 more hits erased Sanna's clone.

… Hmm, about this level? A bit pitiful that Miria was too strong for them…

6 hits shaved HP from Eve's and Sanna's main bodies too.

Maybe I'd deliberately miss the last 2 hits…

Just as I started to think that.

"Haaaa!"

Du…!

Suddenly a strong effect kicked in on Eve and Sanna. A sudden attack-defense UP?

About 200% or so. Meaning instantly nearly 3x stats?

"Let's go, Sanna!"

"Yes, Eve!"

"""Starlight Explosion!"""

A rainbow-shining light poured down.

DOGGOOON!

"Miria! Defensive stance! Guard it firmly!"

"O-okay… aaah!"

Tremendous…! A single strike dealing 600 damage in one go to Miria.

… Miria's defensive stance was truly excellent. Without it, her HP might've been blown away.

"Hah, hah, hah… that's all for me. I surrender."

With that, Eve surrendered.

Even using her finisher she couldn't finish Miria, so the give-up was a natural quit-point.

… But honestly she could've fought a bit more. She'd given me and Miria the spotlight.

Going incapacitated mid-Attack-Op wouldn't do, either.

"… I was surprised. Eve, you're strong."

Miria praised her.

"Thank you, Miria-san."

Eve smiled refreshingly.

"… And, this may be rude to say… but truly, you were strong. Miria-san was strong, no question… but Naoto-sama's attack instructions and defense were truly excellent… wonderful…"

Eve looked at me with entranced eyes.

"Haha… well, somehow I kept up the dignity of an S-Class Master. Eve, you were truly strong too. Your teamwork with your companions was wonderful as well."

"Thank you!"

We praised each other and ended the mock battle on a warm note.

Well, LV difference aside, currently Eve was several tiers above Ruria.

… You could call her decidedly above.

But Ruria will grow stronger yet.

Of course, Eve will doubtless grow stronger too.

The outcome of their eventual showdown will be truly fun to watch.

"How was my ability?"

So Miria asked for feedback.

"It was, well, beyond reproach strong… I really, really want you to join us."

"… Ehe."

Miria bashful was cute again. A fun mock battle.
